Skylon Education is one of the Cameroonian most impactful EdTech managing two e learning Skylon.org and en.skylon.org with the mission to provide quality and affordable education to high school students and reduce school failure. We leverage technology, partnership with school and best in class teachers to create and ecosystem where student can learn and increase their performance everywhere at low cost just by using their smartphone. Skylon was created in July 2020 to help Cameroonian students to navigate during the covid-19 pandemic and has helps more than 12000 students up to now.
How does the Company /Initiative/Career/Business improve people s life, impact, affordability and reliability?
In Cameroon more than 40 percent of student come from low income household and the average of school failure is about 30 percent. By bringing a solution that can help each student to get access to quality education at low cost (least than 300 FCFA) and increase their performance we contribute to improve school repeating and help family to reduce education budget while helping their students succeed.
How can this service product or solution be expanded to new markets or areas in Africa?
Currently Skylon already help more than 100 student from other country than Cameroon. To expand it to new market, we will include an available mobile money payment gateway for other country and adapt online contents. Next year we will expand our impact to Ivory cost and Democratic republic of Congo.
