Describe how your Company/Initiative /Career/ Business is turning Africa problems into solutions in your community e g technology partnerships reach coverage:
Eswatini is said to be one of the lowly ranked countries in sub-Saharan Africa in promoting women both in business as well as in top public positions. Through our business mentorship program which is targeted at final year university students who are pursuing their degree in business. We empower these women with the knowledge, skills, tools and support needed to unleash their untapped entrepreneurial potential resulting in establishing resilient and sustainable businesses. We believe in doing this, we are creating awareness to young women on the possibilities of establishing a thriving business straight out of university as well as the potential of job creation versus the common route of job seeking. We teach on how to thrive in times of uncertainty and pair these students with mentors from across Africa who have walked and are continuing to walk the walk of wealth today. By doing this, we seek to change the narrative for women in Eswatini by doing our bit in raising SHEntrepreneurs that will fearlessly occupy their seats in the marketplace and further pave the way for their next generation of leaders in the land.
How does the Company/Initiative/Career/Business improve people’s life impact affordability and reliability?
By focusing our efforts on university students we are able to positively change the mindset of young women from seeking employment to creating employment for others. Having a complete e-learning program is a cost efficient method that enables these students to participate in a 12-week program and life mentoring relationship. The e-learning platform enables these women to be more tech savvy as per the “new normal”. Angel investors to assist in making these young women’s business dreams a reality. Our program intake is 10 women per quarter which results in 40 lives empowered per annum. We’re currently working on on-boarding key financial partners/sponsors to enable us to offer this program at zero cost to the students but 100% beneficial, thus enabling us to increase our quarterly intake as well as expand on impact
How can this service product or solution be expanded to new markets or areas in Africa?
Expanding to new areas in Africa is part of our growth strategy. We currently have mentors from Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya. Our road map of expansion will be through our mentors who will mobilise young women in their countries who fall under the same profile as students in Eswatini to join this business mentorship movement from their country. 2021- 2022 is Eswatini, 2023 to 2024 is Nigeria, 2025 to 2026 is Ghana and 2027 to 2029 will be Kenya.
